I think I worry my kids by the pace at which I go through motorcycles. I try to assure them that my proclivity for disposing of and acquiring my motorcycles babies does NOT extend to my human babies . . . but they are dubious. In any case, let me introduce to you bike number seven, a 2003 Ducati Monster 620ie.
Long story short, my cousin's hubby wasn't riding it anymore and generously allowed me to take it off of his hands. My plan after finishing my term as Moderator was to get another bike, but some offers simply cannot be refused. I have usually been a standard retro bike person and have never really pictured myself as a Ducati guy. I guess I am now. I actually don't know much about them, but I am reading up and if the gushing reviews are true, I'm way ready to take it out for a spin.
It'll be in the shop for another week getting into riding condition, so I have a little time to pick a name for her. In the past we have had "Clara," "Betty Blue Baby," "Betty Blue Baby II" and more recently, "Trixie Triumph." This is the girls favorite part of the bike conversation and they have suggested a few, but, seriously . . . I need some help here. So far the following names have been offered.
The Roaring Banana
Gialla (Yellow in Italian)
Dilaw kulog (Yellow Thunder in Tagalog)
While I maintain the final say, feel free to offer up some names . . . you can't really do any worse than "Buzz Buzz." Please help me . . .
Not sure what should worry me more: the fact that these gingerbread houses were still edible after a month or the ferocity with which my sweet babies devoured them . . . either way, their time came to and end today.
“Peace it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”
Thank to all who have asked for this. This is a compilation of many different benedictions that I have heard throughout the years, no originality claimed, just some great opportunities to share it.
Go forth into the world
With compassion and justice in your heart
Give voice to the silent
Give strength to the weak
See one another
Hear one another
Care for one another
And love one another
It's all that easy
And it's all that hard
Now may the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ
The love of God
And the power of the Holy Spirit
Be with us all, now and forever more
